Going away

So my time has come for another vacation, thank god after the last couple of days. Am completely exhausted so the first few days in New York will be interesting...

The itinerary goes like this:

Fly out to NYC on 6am flight tomorrow.

Fly out to Vegas on Monday, hiring/renting a car

Drive over to San Diego via Grand Canyon on Wednesday

Drive up to L.A on Saturday for my flight back to Chicago (overnight flight)

Have just discovered my cigarettes have gone AWOL so am going to go to Target (to return cable ties, am going to tell you why I have them) and Walgreens (the cigarettes). And not in that order either.

Ok, back. Lozz has had a bag lost somewhere between Edinburgh and Washington D.C and missed her connecting flight so I'm now calling the hostel to say she's going to be late. I hope our vacation doesn't go this way for the whole time and it's just her who has the glitch.

Now, about the cable ties... It's an interesting story, it really is. No some people know that I probably am not a person very suited to hostels and backpacking as such, I'm more of a hotel person with complimentry soaps and stuff, with my own bathroom and maids. But because of lack of money we're staying in hostels, which is fine, really, I don't plan on not enjoying it but I did want to take serious precaution in regards to my luggage and keeping my belongings safe so today I went to Target and found cable ties, a whole 650 of them, it was the only ones they had so I had no option in getting less. And I also bought a combination lock. The cable ties cost $6.41 with tax (I found this out when I returned them...) and when I got home I decided against the idea of tying my zippers together with them. Figure I'll just take out all my favourite and important belongings and lock them away. Plus, 650 would mean I'd have to go through about 100 a day, not going to happen and on top of that, I'd have to either carry scissors or keep them somewhere so I can keep cutting my bag open. Really, it all seemed a bit dramatic. That's the cable ties story.

Am completely fucked. It's currently 5:38pm and I need to shower and do all that, zip up my bag, might even put it in the car tonight and be in bed, hopefully asleep, by 8pm. Shouldn't be too hard considering I woke at 6:30am this morning just for the hell of it apparently. And the 8am starts killed me this week.

Oh, and I also found out the NYC marathon is being ran this weekend, which would be great, if I hadn't paid $90 in tour tickets on buses. Am praying and hoping to god the services aren't disrupted because of the thing.

Am now going to finish getting ready, need to pack a pair of shorts cause Vegas looks like it's going to be warm!!!! So, will probably not post til next weekend but I said the same thing when I went to Florida, D.C and I assume I did when I went away in August and ended up posting so check back if you're interested, but, just a tip if I'm paying for it I probably won't be posting much.
