Thanksgiving week

Having learnt about Thanksgiving via Alex's homework maybe a month or two ago I understand why people give thanks on this day. So I've decided to celebrate by writing a list of all the things I am thankful for, silly or heartfelt. And in no specific order.
1. My family. Growing up and leaving home really sealed my love and appreciation I have for my mum, dad and sister. Plus my grandparents. For all they've done to support me I just hope I can bring my kids up the way my parents did me (I don't think having a mini me would be all that bad). NB: This is actually my number one. From here on in it's no specific order.
2. My friends. Oh my god my friends and the crazy moments we've had. People have crazy moments but I really think crazy moments really follow me around. My friends for loving me, for putting up with me and thinking I am the best in the world (ok, I did a little interpreting of your feelings for me...). And that is old friends and new, the people who keep me sane and keep calling me because I'm lazy and can't be bothered to find my phone to call them.
3. Relaxed speed laws in the state of Illinois. Otherwise I couldn't cruise along at the speed I am comfortable at (75 miles an hour, it's like we have a cosmic connection, always finding one another on the interstate).
4. My host family. For making me go insane but providing me with a sanctuary to do it in!!! No, they've really showed me another way of life and given me a lot of love.
5. Dale Woo, aka the Daewoo. That car, as much money as it kept demanding and however hot it was, got me from A to B everytime except once and that once was my fault and between me and him, I take full responsibility for it. Plus he's a tank, he's smacked into a few cars here and there. And I might be saying goodbye to him when I go home (Dad still loves him and Rach likes him too).
6. America. If one day I forget who I really am I'll think back to my time here because the time here I've been 100% myself. It's an amazing country, one I'd very happily accept adoption from.
7. Coke. Without it I'd have probably fallen asleep at inappropriate times over the last 4 years.
8. Food. If I liked different kinds I'd probably like a career in taste testing. The flavours and the textures thrill me. I'm majorly into Key Lime Pie at the moment.
9. Music. For making me happy and expressing my feelings even when I'm unaware of feeling that way.
10. Email. Oh goodness, email. MSN. Where would I have been these last 6 years? The things I'd have missed out on.
11. My teddy. Poor teddy has been squashed into suitcases and packs, searched by a gloved lady in Tampa, FL, forgotten in a car once (and only once, when I was like 4), moved from house to house with me and he still loves me. He's my security blanket and I'm not ashamed to say he's come all over America with me (except D.C, wasn't there for long enough, but worried about the house burning down with him in it all weekend). It's a weird and freakish thing maybe but I struggle to sleep without knowing he's in bed with me.

And that's all I can think of right now. I am generaly thankful for everything. But that's the stuff which I have com to think, I am so thankful for this.
Hoping everyone has a lovely week, celebrating Thanksgiving or not.
