Oh man

The last few days have been go go go. Wednesday we went to the Lincoln Park zoo. A pretty cool place considering it's free. Saw a quite a few animals, quite a few weren't on display. Ended up with migraine, bad enough that when we came home and I put myself to bed I ended up getting up again to vomit. Not the worst experience, but didn't make my head feel any better.

Thursday I woke super early, 6am without an alarm. And I'd been awake a few times through the night, god only knows why but I did. Checked my VTAC app and had my suspicions confirmed, RMIT doesn't offer early round offers so I have to wait until Jan 15 to find out if I was accepted into uni. Was a bit bummed. Pat, the kids and I headed off to the Thanksgiving parade downtown by 7:30am and got there just as the blow up turkey was going past so we caught the beginning. Was pretty cool. I really enjoy parades. Em was especially enjoying it and I'm lucky everyone lasted as long as they did so the only major thing I think I ended up missing was Santa Clause. It was interesting to see schools from Ohio, Texas and Florida there, I didn't realise the parade was so big. After that we came home and I got myself ready to go back towards the city to Pat's sister's for Thanksgiving dinner. Was a hilarious night, I had a great time, Pat's family are so nice and the kids did a really good job of behaving.

Today Pat hit the stores early (5am, when most opened...) and I stayed here sleeping. It's like our equilivent to the Boxing Day sales, but this is pretty much is major and minor store with everything in between opening up and having haords of people through the doors within an hour. I heard feet above me just before 8am and had a sudden thought that they were looking for Pat so rushed upstairs to find Em very content and Pat back. I got dressed and ventured out. I bought what I wanted, a 2GB USB for $25, saving me $55 and then decided to look at the other stores. Ended up with Jarhead and Brokeback Mountain for $4.99 each, then I went somewhere else and got The Sweetest Thing for $2.99 and the first season of My Name is Earl for dad for $18.99 (bargain!). I wasn't as hardcore as most people though and couldn't actually be bothered to venture into the mall. I might attack it later this evening but don' actually want to buy anything so might not bother. Some people had been waiting since 4am in the morning. That to me is crazy. All the digital cameras at Circuit City had either been put away or had all been sold. The carparks were full, I was thankful that I'd been lucky getting good parking and also not having to wait in lines forever. Shopping like that isn't my thing. But I am happy with what I bought and how I didn't buy things which were more than I'd wanted to buy.

So that's me for the time being. Am going to have a nap and do some scrapbooking this arvo. Tomorrow I'm off downtown to check out some of the Christmas decorations going on and Sunday I'm off to make a 2007 Organiser at Archivers for $10 so figr eI'll scrapbook all Sunday as well.
